The Magnificent 12: The Call was okay. I'm just going to stick with the Gone series because they are sooooooo much better. However even though this series is more directed to the younger audience of preteens from 8-14, it didn't really grip me enough to enjoy this book. The story or plot, well, was disappointing but I guess preteen stories don't delve in deeper and they just skim the top and scenes that need to happen do happen. Things just happened too quickly and there really was no explanation of why events happened. Although you do have a backstory of the history and beginnings of 'the magnificent 12' so its not all that confusing.Furthermore, I did enjoy the humor throughout the book that Michael Grant gave to his own narrative and the voices of the characters. Not a series I will be continuing, just because of the lack of depth.
